"Slit Light” speaks to the global loss of life for queer and trans Palestinians living in Palestine and in exile. Our queer and trans global communities are struggling through a profound loss of human rights, violent erasure, and abusive conversation therapies. While our communities in Palestine are facing imprisonment, barbaric torture, starvation, and militarized colonialism enacting multi-generational genocide.

The poem and collage artwork were created at the Tin House Summer Workshop 2025. May we all act for humanity, look to the skies, and open ourselves to the light.
